Ending
Stephen is on the run, suffering from crushing guilt, he didn’t know why he was doing this and could not remember doing it. Rain is pouring down and he’s tired and hungry. He walks across the motorway, overwhelmed by the feeling he cannot escape that he was being followed, the exact feeling had been with him all month and he continued to think of the man who followed him a weeks back, tall and possibly mid 40s. A few hours pass by and a car pulls up in front of him in front of him, and an arm appears out of the window giving the signal to come forward, Stephen approaches slowly wondering if this could be the end, if someone will finally tell him what is going on. He wasn’t scared, he had a gun in his pocket, and he fingers the trigger not trusting his hidden ‘friend’.
Stephen gets in the car and he suddenly realises that it is the man who followed him at school that day. He pulls the gun at the unknown man and asks him why he was following him. The man tells Stephen that he is his father, Paul Smith, and he knows what has been happening to Stephen. (Music changes to emotional through the use of a violin). Shocked and sickened, Stephen exits the car .
In complete and utter shock, he starts to walk down the road crying, consumed by his overwhelming guilt and his new told 'truth'. Paul gets out of the car screaming for his son to come back so he can explain things but Stephen persists on walking down the road wishing that the voices in his head would stop, he couldn't make sense of any of it, but they continued to scream the same phrase (music turns deep toned, ominous music begins to heighten sense of danger) 'kill him, he never cared about you'. His father catches with him and pulls him to attention but Stephen turns the gun and points at his fathers face. He starts to cry, asking him why he left, asks him what he had done, Paul explains and pleads his son to calm down. Stephen wants to know why, why he was following him. Paul tells him about the family history and that every generation of male in the family has suffered from schizophrenia and they all started to do things at the age of 18 when the brain is meant to mature properly. Stephen can't believe it, all this time he was so perfect at everything he did and now he knew that he was nothing but a murderer. He points the gun at his temple and shouts at his father to leave because he want anyone to find him, his father pleads to him not to do it, that there is a way out, he tells Stephen of his own illness being cured.

Stephen shouts and says that there is no way out, only death is the only possible solution. The voices in his head get louder, they were blocking out all noise of the heavy rain. His head hurt and he wished that the pain would just stop, the voice was telling him 'death will become our medication'.
(Music stops, only to hear the sound of the rain, voices still remain) Stephen pulls back the pin with his thumb.
He looks his father in the eye 'I’m sorry'

He hears a loud banging crack echo through the trees, he runs in the direction of the noise, when he arrives at the edge of the motorway, he looks left and then right and in front of him is a body in the road and a tall man is stood over it screaming, crying and holding a gun.
The detective pulls out his weapon and screams at the man to put his weapon down and raise his hand behind his head, the man obliges. He kicks the gun into the road and tells the man to get on knees.
Thompson recognises the man as the one who put him in the hospital a few weeks ago, he asks who he is, Paul replies 'I’m the man your looking for, the killer, the boy is my son'
Paul looks at Thompson in the eye 'I killed him'
